powder snow enjoyment
Skiing & Ski regions

The region "Bruck Fusch Großglockner" is in the immediate vicinity of the original "Europasportregion Zell am See Kaprun".
Why it was called that way? Probably because the sports opportunities in the ski areas are unparalleled, as is rarely the case in Europe.
Nevertheless, the region has not stood still and has meanwhile risen to a breathtaking ski alliance with Zell am See - Kaprun, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn.

The season starts early

This season already begins at a time when you can only dream of skiing in other regions. While summer is just taking its leave in the valley, the winter season is already beginning in the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area. You can already make the first turns of the season on the glacier, while still watching the sailboats on the Zeller See The Kitzsteinhorn remains a guarantee for great slopes and powder snow throughout the season. Due to its high location, it is very snow-sure.

Especially the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See invites you to long ski days full of sun and fun on the slopes, in the main ski season. The Schmitten is a real family skiing area, where everyone can have fun. From beginner to pro, every alpine skier will find their purpose on the Schmitten. The most breathtaking thing about the Schmitten is the great view of Zeller See and the glacier world of the Hohe Tauern.

Also very close by

The good things are so close. Just around the corner in Kaprun awaits the family ski area Maiskogel. Known as a family mountain in summer, the Maiskogel is also a paradise for young and old in winter. Manageable dimensions, great snow, beautiful slopes and casual huts with great views into the valley. While the sun sets in the Oberpinzgau in the evening, you can relax and ski down into the valley - it's not far to Hotel Lampenhäusl. Even though it's not far, you don't have to drive yourself. From Fusch there is a free ski bus to Kaprun and Zell am See.

Ski regions in the area

Those who would like to cover even more kilometers of slopes are best off to Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Leogang, Fieberbrunn, which is also around the corner.
With the Zell am SeeXpress, the ski regions of Zell am See and Saalbach Hinterglemm have grown together. Saalbach-Hinterglemm promises incredibly long and wide slopes and lots of great freeride runs, where you can certainly draw one or the other first "line". Those who prefer to start their ski day directly in Saalbach can drive their own car to the Schönleitenbahn, 30 km away, and enter the ski region.

Winter in the region "Bruck Fusch Großglockner" means skiing vacation.
With us, the winter and slope wonderland of the province of Salzburg is practically at your feet.

Enjoy the winter rest
Ski touring

While the others are still asleep in the morning, off we go - off on a fantastic ski tour in the mountains of Fusch.
Outside, the day awakens and it is bitterly cold. On the first few meters of altitude, the muscles are still cold and stiff.
Soon, however, we reach the sun and a wonderful day begins in the snowy mountains of the Hohe Tauern.

Sounds tempting, doesn't it? This is what ski touring days around the Hotel Lampenhäusl look like. Fusch a.d. Glocknerstraße and the entire region "Bruck Fusch Großglockner" are made for ski touring. It doesn't matter if you go ski touring in winter or spring or on the slopes, there is always a tour you can go on.

Friends of slope ski touring and uphill trainers will enjoy the Ronachkopf. The Enzianhütten is a wonderful place to take a break, the liquid balance needs to be restored after the ascent and the physical well-being is also well taken care of. In autumn, long before there is snow in the valley, ambitious tourers already climb the glacier of the Kitzsteinhorn.

Powder snow lovers and deep snow freaks will find their luck on the Grasberge and the surrounding peaks of the region. In high winter, our region is considered very snow-sure and countless ski touring days await you. The descents from the Imbachhorn, the Kreuzköpfl or even from the Schwarzkopf are considered to be the most beautiful, but also the most demanding in the region - you should already be good on touring skis.

When spring arrives and the snow slowly retreats to the high mountains, it's time for the region's great ski touring classics. Springtime is "firn time". Stubacher Sonnblick and Granatspitze are the "easiest" 3,000-meter peaks in the region - thanks to the gondola to the Weisssee glacier ski area. With names like Rauriser Sonnblick, Hocharn or Großvenediger, more stamina is required. Probably the most famous spring ski tour in the region is the "Kloben" in the Glockner area and this is also right on our doorstep.

No matter how you turn it - the possibilities for ski tours from autumn to spring are manifold in our region. If you are interested and still looking for an uncomplicated, as well as cozy accommodation, then you are in the best hands at the hotel Lampenhäusl. We are looking forward to meeting you.

Tracks in the snow
snowshoeing & cross country skiing

Ski tours are too much of a challenge for you and you don't really like skiing in open terrain.
Are you also not too fond of steep slopes and queues in front of the lifts?
You still want to soak up the beauty of the winter landscape in the Salzburg mountains?
Then we recommend our winter and snowshoe hikes and the cross-country ski trails.

If you are addicted to Nordic winter sports or would like to try how cross-country skis feel under your feet, you can let off steam on one of the many cross-country trails in the region. The region "Bruck Fusch Großglockner" has perfectly groomed cross-country skiing trails with connection to the legendary "Pinzga-Loipe", which is about 200 km long. In Fusch you will find a cross-country trail which is well suited for beginners - not too long and not too demanding. Ideal to get acquainted with cross-country skis. Out of the valley, from Bruck, a large and varied cross-country skiing network opens up.

Snowshoe hikers can explore some of the hiking trails that you may already know from summer in Fusch in winter. Experience the beautiful and quiet winter landscape to the fullest. After extensive snowfall you can strap on your snowshoes and make your first tracks through the fresh snow.

If you want to go high up in winter you can go on a breathtaking snowshoe hike on the Schmittenhöhe - guided tours are also offered. Along the mountain ridge you can fully surrender to the winter wonderland and enjoy the impressive panorama of the Hohe Tauern. Don't forget that you are at an altitude of up to 2,000 meters - sturdy shoes, snowshoes and warm clothing are a must.

Whether snowshoeing or cross-country skiing - the region "Bruck Fusch Großglockner" is not only something for alpine skiers. Everyone who wants can soak up the winter wonderland with us at the hotel Lampenhäusl.

We are looking forward to meeting  you in person  - see you soon at the Lampenhäusl.
