Hiking tour Ponyhofalm
Beautiful hike with a pleasant uphill and great views
The Ponyhofalm is a beautiful place, which is run by the family's old generation with much passion and lifeblood - and it is located in the middle of the Hohe Tauern. The hike is fairly easy going and a nice trip for the whole family. At the altitude of about 1.400 meters visitors can find a great pasture with amazing views into the mountains of the Hohe Tauern.
The way to the Ponyhofalm
The hike starts directly at the Hotel Lampenhäusl and first of all we take the 2 km walking path in northern direction to the Judendorf district - or the Hinterjudendorf farmhouse - also known as Ponyhof. From there it is the gravel road up the hill, which takes us to the Ponyhofalm.
Depending on shape and hiking speed, the Ponyhofalm can be reached within about 2 h on a beautiful plateau in a romantic pasture area. Due to the high altitude of more than 1.400 meters, we can enjoy a sensational view to the mountains of the Hohe Tauern.

The Ponyhofalm is a nice and easy hike for the entire family. In Summer the alm is open and you can find there about 40 pieces of cattle. The owners of the Ponyhofalm Mary and Rudolf Hollaus look forward to welcoming hikers and mountainbikers on their alm.
Yes, you've got that right - you can also ride your mountainbike to the Ponyhofalm. If you think, the hike on the gravel road sounds a bit too boring, take the bike up the hill. After that, you can leave your bike at the Ponyhof and take a nice hike towards the famous Imbachhorn. There are a plenty of options around the Ponyhofalm. In the evening there is the hotel Lampenhäusl waiting for you with the Sauna and a delicious dinner - does that sound good to you?
