"A tour to the king" over alpine passes and amazing roads

The way over the Dienten, Hochkönig tour
I start dreaming immediately. This roadbike tour is amazing. No wonder, that the organizers of the Ironman 70.3 in Zell am See Kaprun took this tour as the roadbike part of the traithlon. We start at the Hotel Lampenhäusl. Your energy storage should be full, because we have to climb over the Filzensattel on of the most beautiful alpine passes in the region. Out of the Fusch valley we reach Bruck a.d. Glocknerstraße, where we follow the Pinzgau Bundesstraße in eastern direction. In Lend we turn off and ride on the Dienten Bundesstraße towards Dienten am Hochkönig.
In Dienten take a rest if you need - now there is the Filzensattel waiting. You will not feel any pain, as the route is so beautiful and the view to the Hochkönig too impressive. On the hightest point of the pass, the road turns towards Maria Alm; we trade the Hochkönig to the Steinernes Meer near Maria Alm and Saalfelden. After Maria Alm we ride on nice side-roads towards Maishofen and the lake Zell. On the eastern shore we reach Bruck and find our way back to the valley of Fusch and the Hotel Lampenhäusl.

A TIPP from Heli:
Trade the Hohe Tauern to the stone mountains of the region. This tour is about mountain panoramas. Take your time and enjoy every minute and every glance on the famous mountain ranges of the Hochkönig and the Steinernes Meer. The route towards Lend can be tricky - the main road is a four lane road and you should use every opportunity to ride on a side road.
As the end of the tour, you will find some nice cafes and spots near the lake Zell. You can also jump in the lake, which is amazing after a long day on your roadbike. If your return to the Hotel Lampenhäusl, there's a cool Weizenbeer waiting for you.
