Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See
Skiing vacation in the region "Bruck Fusch Großglockner" - skiing fun on the Schmittenhöhe in the ski area Zell am See
Schmittenhöhe is the local mountain of Zell am See and is located directly above the city and the lake. Whoever takes the stylish design gondola to the mountain station has a wonderful view over the lake and the valley. The view is not the most important thing on the Schmittenhöhe - those are the slopes and winter sports.
Great skiing as far you can see
The variety of slopes with different levels of difficulty is remarkable. Sunny days begin on the sunny slopes of the Sonnalm. Fantastically wide and not too steep slopes await ambitious skiers and the sun shines from the early hours of the morning. When the sun rises higher, the steeper and more demanding slopes will be intresting.
Some great slopes bring you to the Kettingjoch area. Or you can take the slopes in the direction of Areit and Schüttdorf under your skis. If you really want to experience great skiing on the Schmitten, you can try the "Standard" or "Trass descent" into the valley. After the red and black slopes, a cozy stop in a rustic hut awaits. Breiteckalm, Schnaps-Hans, Eder Alm, Areitalm, Hochzelleralm or Sonnalm look forward to your visit.
Winter fun for young and old
On the Schmittenhöhe you can not only "normal" skiing . At the top you will find the longest Funslope XXL in the world. Waves, jumps, tunnels, steep walls and so on make something special for you and your skis. You can also be older to be enthusiastic about the Funslope. The Nighslope in Zell am See is the place to be if you haven't had enough of skiing in the evening. Holiday memories are shot at the photo points and those who immortalize themselves on the Skimove route can watch themselves skiing afterwards. The Schmitten is hard to beat in terms of versatility.
The Zell am See Xpress
The two ski areas Zell am See and Saalbach - Hinterglemm are connected to each other. The zellamseeXpress gondola is starting to build a bridge that basically existed between 1930 and 1980. The new 10-person gondola connects a "corner station" above Viehofen with the Saalersbachköpfel in the Schmittenhöhe area. Skiers on the Schmitten have the opportunity to look "over the edge of the valley" thanks to the new 3.3 km long red slope in the direction of Viehofen. In Viehofen you can quickly jump on the ski bus and in no time at the Schönleitenbahn in the Saalbach - Hinterglemm ski area.
