Snowshoeing and cross country skiing
Snowshoeing and cross-country-skiing around the hotel Lampenhäusl in the region Großglockner-Zellersee right next to the nationalpark Hohe Tauern.
Skitouring is not quite your discipline and it is a bit too extreme. On the other hand you do not like to line up in form of the skilifts of the region and the masses on the slopes are not really inviting to you. If you also want to soak in the beauty of winter in the mountains, you should go on a snow-shoe-hike or take the cross-country-skies around the hotel Lampenhäusl.
Many of the paths and trails in and around Fusch, which you probably know from summer are quite as good in winter. Go winterhiking and check out the “Fuscher Archenweg” towards Bruck. After intensive snowfalls, you better take snow shoes with you. On the path high above the village of Fusch you will need them as well. You can make your own tracks, like on the “Angerer Almweg” or the way to Bad Fusch.
If you want to reach higher points, take the cable car to the Schmittenhöhe and go for a snow-shoeing-trip there. The views and panoramas from the ridge up there are amazing. But do not forget - you are up to 2.000 meters, so warm clothes, hot drinks and winter-boots are important.
If you are into the Nordic sports, you will find real good tracks for cross-country-skiing around Fusch. The track in Fusch is fairly easy and good for beginners. The further outside the valley you move, the more demanding the track becomes. In the area around Bruck your have to be an advanced cross-country-skier to have fun. There you will find a connection to the famous “pinzga-track”, which is 200 kilometers long.
Winterhiking, snow-shoeing, cross-country-skiing - winter in the region Großglockner-Zellersee is not only on the slopes and pists - there is much more to explore. Everybody can soak in the winterwonderland of Fusch - we have the right hotel for you - come to the Lampenhäusl. The Nindl family looks forward to welcome you.
