Skicircus Saalbach - Hinterglemm, Leogang, Fieberbrunn
Skiing and snowboarding in one of the largest ski areas in Austria
Not just one of the largest, but above all the "coolest ski area" in the Alps. That is what they say in Saalbach Hinterglemm. Do you think also? Find out and hit the many slopes in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang and Fieberbrunn. Everything is possible there, you probably won't be able to manage the entire variety of slopes, descents and runs in one day. BUT the entrance to the Skicircus at the Schönleitenbahn can be reached from the Hotel Lampenhäusl in a good 30 km by your own car, or you start on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and take the descent to Viehofen. Here you can hop on the ski bus to the Schönleitenbahn.
279 kilometers of slopes, 70 cable cars - and the trend is rising
The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn really offers skiing fun at a very high level. Not just in terms of the slopes, the snow and skiing. You feel really good on the heated chairlifts, on the sun terraces and on the sunny slopes between Salzburg and Tyrol. Up to 140 km of blue slopes are available for beginners and future professionals. On 112 km of red pistes, things are a little more sporty and on the 18 km of black pistes, those who are sure of their thing on skis or boards can be found.
The "Glemmtal" is oriented east-west, which means that you have all advantages on your side. Start your day of skiing on the sunny side and ride warm on the slopes around Kohlmais, Bärnkogel, Reiterkogel and Hochalm. When you have warmed up and the sun rises higher, switch to the south side of the valley and the north slopes. On the Schattberg and Zwölferkogel, sporty slopes, colored red and black, await experts and those who want to become one. Schattberg Nord and Zwölferkogel Nord are special slopes and require good skiing technique.
"Home of Lässig" Powderfun in the Salzburger Land
With the connection to the neighboring Fieberbrunn not only the almost endless selection of slopes is possible. The connecting lift in Tyrol also allows access to unbelievably "casual" freeride lines and powder snow runs on the north side of the Skicircus. Where you haven't dared to go because you couldn`t come back, the powder snow is now dusting and you can draw your own line in the powder. Fieberbrunn is well known in freerider circles. As the location of the Freeride World Tour, not only extreme lines await, but above all great conditions for deep snow skiing. Local guides and region experts will be happy to show you the most beautiful spots in the Skicircus and who knows, maybe they'll also reveal their secret spots and hidden lines in the powder.
Cozy huts, lots of "Gaudi (fun)"
The best thing is to take not your own car to drive to Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm. The Glemmtal is a hotspot for "Gaudi (fun)" and many partys. In up to 60 ski huts and in numerous bars, some day after skiing end there, even when the lifts quit and the snow groomers are already out. On the sunny side you will find many great huts with cozy sun terraces from which you can wonderfully watch the sunset. The party isn't over in the valley either. In the towns of Saalbach and Hinterglemm, cool bars, chilled lounges and great restaurants await you. Here you meets everyone who can enjoy after skiing also at the nightlife. Is well worth seeing.
