Mountaineering and climbing around the hotel Lampenhäusl in the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern.

You stand right in front of the hotel Lampenhäusl and absorb the power of the surrounding region. You have waited for quite a long time to be here and to soak the fresh air of the mountains around Fusch. You look up in the air to the mountains and get a feeling of the huge variety of options you will have over the next couple of days - sounds great doesn't it?

The village of Fusch is located right next to the world famous Grossglockner Hochalpenstraße. This winding road brings you up to high elevations within minutes and up there you have plenty of options for hikes and for reaching high summits. Have you ever dreamed of climbing the Großglockner? So, come to Fusch, relax for a couple of days in the hotel Lampenhäusl and then try to approach the highest peak of Austria.

What do you think? It need not to be highest peak in the first place? So think about lower lying summits like the Wiesbachhorn, the Schwarzkopf or the Hohe Dock. Or you prefer a high alpine hike, like the “Glocknerrunde”. There you do not climb high peaks but take a look at them from the distance. Whatever you plan, we  know experienced mountain guides, who we can organize for you.

For those of you, who prefer the “vertical” world, we also have really great climbing-spots. For real quick boulder-sessions we recommend the area around Ferleiten. There you can find huge boulders and rocks, where you can spend some challenging hours. Near Fusch, in direction of the village Bruck, there is a good spot for sport climbing as well. There is a huge wall in the forest, which is quite popular among local climbers. If the weather is not good and the rocks are too cold, in Saalfelden one of the most modern climbing halls in the Salzburg Land. The climbing hall "felsenfest" is not far away and invites you to vertical indoor sessions.

Whatever you prefer, high goals with crampons and and ice picks, or sport-climbing with chalk bag and climbing shoes - our region would not be named “Hohe Tauern”, if not everything was possible. The hotel Lampenhäusl is a great base-camp for all kinds of outdoor adventure and trips to the mountains.
