Lakes, side-roads, main-roads and famous stone mountains
A long, very nice tour through the most beautiful regions between the Pinzgau and Tirol. The tour takes you through beautiful villages and cities, but there are also mountains around Saalfelden, Lofer and Leogang waiting for you - beautiful landscape, how you expect it.
The way on the Lofer tour
An amazing tour through the most beautiful landscapes of the Pinzgau. We start early in the morning at the Hotel Lampenhäusl. We roll out of the Fusch valley. Along the east-shore of the lake Zell we have to take care of the traffic - it can be heavy in the morning. After the lake we take nice side-roads towards Saalfelden over Bsuch and Gerling. Towards Weissbach and Lofer we take parts of the main road. We could take the bike path too, but there are quite bad surface-conditions, which is not so good on a road bike.
In Lofer we turn left toward Waidring and follow some more beautiful alpine roads. In Waidring we turn south and enter the famous Pillersee valley. We come through St. Ulrich am Pillersee, where we find nice spots for taking a rest near the lake. Near Fieberbrunn we turn in direction of Hochrfilzen, which takes us close to Salzburg again. After the last real pass of this tour, we arrive in Leogang and later through nice little villages we come to Saalfelden again. This time we take the west side of the lake Zell and arrive in Schüttdorf and later in Bruck, which takes us back to the Fusch valley and our "home" the Hotel Lampenhäusl.

This tour is amazing, but long and hard and for real roadbikers. Most of the time we have the chance to take side-roads, but certain parts fo the tour are on main roads with lots of traffic - be careful.
Plan some stopps for relaxation and refreshments. The landscape is too beautiful to keep on riding all the time. Especially at the shores of the Pillersee lake you'll find a couple of nice spots and cozy cafes to take your time and enjoy your trip. After your return, you deserve some peace and wellness.
